There is no free-form AI chatbot your child can talk to. AI powers specific, one-shot tasks — marking a story, generating a reading passage, building quiz options — never an open conversation a child can steer.

Reading passages, questions, and writing feedback are all validated against a strict schema before they're ever saved or shown to your child — malformed or off-spec AI output never reaches your family.

The app used to run a live chat that watched for signs of distress in real time; that feature has been removed. Any flag it ever raised in the past is kept — never deleted — and stays visible and resolvable in your parent panel, so nothing about your child's history disappears.

Every story your child writes, every quiz result, every reading session — it's all in your parent panel, not just a summary. Nothing your child submits in the app is private from you.

The parent panel — progress, ratings, writing history, wellbeing flags — sits behind a PIN only you set. Your child signs in to their own account and cannot open the panel, even if they know the PIN is there.

Only a parent account carries an email address. Child accounts are created by a parent from the panel with just a display name, a username and a password — your child never has, needs, or is shown an email address of their own.

Every child has a daily cap on AI usage that a parent controls. If a cap is ever crossed, further AI-backed generation (marking, question building) pauses for a rolling 24 hours.

Writing feedback and the parent's daily dinner-table prompt both pass through an automated content filter before they're stored or shown — this is an automated check, not a person reading in real time.
